Since 2010., when he died, his enormous knowledge and experience are being conveyed at many medical congresses worldwide, while his unique surgical interventions are still being applied and advanced by the former members of his team (younger colleagues and assistants – all of whom were his best students).

Additionally, Serbs are proud of their top psychiatrists and endocrinologists, who are of a crucial importance for the preparation of patients for the surgery. The patient is first interviewed and assessed by a psychiatrist, who must ascertain that he/she is ready for the sex change. The next step is the encounter with the endocrinologist and the beginning of hormonal therapy. Surgeons are the last in this complex process.
